The Twenty20 Community Cricket Academy Women’s team will travel to Czechia this summer to compete in the Prague Challenger Cup 2026, an international women’s cricket tournament taking place from 3–5 July 2026 at the Vinor Cricket Ground in Prague.
The event is an 8-a-side white ball tournament designed to provide competitive match experience for developing women’s teams from across Europe. With prize money on offer and an international field expected, the tournament represents an exciting opportunity for Academy players to test themselves in a new cricketing environment.
Entering the Prague Challenger Cup forms part of the Academy’s wider commitment to women’s cricket development and creating meaningful playing opportunities for girls and young women.
Through a combination of:
Year-round Academy training
Indoor and outdoor leagues
Club and academy fixtures
International tournaments
players are given the chance to develop their skills, confidence and match awareness against a variety of opponents.
For many Academy players, events like the Prague Challenger Cup provide their first experience of international cricket, helping to broaden their horizons both on and off the field.
The Prague Challenger Cup is open to club, academy and national development teams, and organisers are currently inviting additional teams from across Europe to take part.
The tournament offers:
Three days of competitive cricket
An international playing environment
Opportunities for player development and cultural exchange
Prize money for winners and runners-up
The Prague event complements the Academy’s international programme, which also includes the Autumn Cup Women & Girls tournament in Vienna and other overseas development events.
By linking local training in Surrey with international competition, the Academy aims to create a clear and exciting pathway for women and girls in cricket.
