Helping your club grow while developing your players
Cricket clubs are built by volunteers.
Since 2004, our Managing Director, Darren Talbot, has had the privilege of helping clubs develop junior sections, strengthen committees, create player pathways and grow participation.
He would now like to share that experience with clubs across Surrey — at no financial cost to the club.
A genuine partnership
Our Academy exists to provide additional opportunities for young cricketers.
Your club provides the week-in, week-out cricket that every player needs.
Rather than working independently, we believe we can achieve far more by working together.
We help you develop your club and your players.
The more players your club has within the Twenty20 Community Cricket Academy, the more time and support we can invest back into helping your club develop.
How we can help
Every club faces different challenges and we have helped clubs with 99% of those.
Support could include: -
Every club is different but the challenges are often very similar.
Tell us where your club wants to go and where you need help. We'll focus our support where we believe we can make the biggest difference.
Developing local partnerships
Your club remains the player's cricketing home. Twenty20 simply provides the additional coaching, matches and opportunities around it particularly for those juniors at state school who will likely receive little, if any cricket at schools.
And we're already seeing how well this can work.
We helped establish and develop the junior section at Old Woking CC. As that section has grown, so has its relationship with our nearby Fullbrook School Academy hub, with around 8–10 Old Woking players now joining our programme each year.
We've also supported the development of junior cricket at Ripley CC, creating the opportunity for a similar relationship with Fullbrook, and have recently agreed to support Salfords CC with their development alongside our Merstham Park Academy hub.
If you believe the Academy can benefit your players, we'd simply ask that you recommend Twenty20 to parents looking for additional coaching and playing opportunities and help us make your players aware of what is available at their local Academy hub. If you are able to let us have some pitch use over the summer, perhaps the holidays for our two-day Test Matches, then that's a help to us too.
Club cricket always comes first. Players continue representing their own clubs and we actively want them to do so.
Our role is to complement what you already provide.
You provide their club cricket.
We provide additional cricket.
Together, we develop the player
And keep them in the game for many years to come.
And as the relationship grows, we invest more of our experience and resources back into supporting the development of your club.
Why we're doing this
We know that cricket clubs are full of fantastic, committed volunteers, but they don't always have the time or experience to tackle every challenge their club faces.
We do.

It starts with a conversation about your club, where you want it to go and how we might be able to help each other get there.
