WOMEN & GIRLS CRICKET
At Twenty20 Community Cricket, the development of Women & Girls’ cricket sits at the heart of everything we do. From structured Academy training in Surrey to international tournament opportunities in Europe, our focus is long-term: building confident, skilled cricketers and creating clear development pathways for girls in the game.
A Girls’ Cricket Academy Built Around Development
Our girls’ cricket academy in Surrey provides year-round coaching designed specifically for developing players. Sessions focus on:
We believe development is about more than performance. Our coaching environment is inclusive, supportive and structured so that every player understands their role, feels valued, and gains meaningful match experience.
Through indoor winter leagues, summer fixtures, and intra-academy games, players experience different match situations and responsibilities. This exposure is vital in helping young cricketers grow in game understanding and decision-making — key elements of youth girls’ cricket development.
Creating Real Pathways for Girls in Cricket
A major challenge in girls’ cricket development is the gap between training and high-quality match experience. We work to close that gap.
Our Academy girls regularly play:
This structure helps players progress at their own pace while being challenged appropriately. The aim is not short-term results, but helping each girl build the skills, confidence and resilience needed to stay in cricket long-term.
International Experience Through the Autumn Cup
A unique part of our Women & Girls programme is the opportunity for players to gain international cricket experience through the Autumn Cup Indoor Tournament in Vienna.
The Autumn Cup brings together Women & Girls’ development teams from across Europe, including national, regional, club and academy sides. It is designed specifically as a development-focused event, giving players:
For many of our Academy girls, this is their first experience of overseas cricket. Playing alongside and against teams from countries such as Austria, Czechia, Scotland, England, Slovenia and Estonia helps broaden their understanding of the game and builds confidence both on and off the field.
From Local Training to European Competition
What makes our programme distinctive is the connection between local girls’ cricket training in Surrey and European development opportunities.
Girls train weekly in a structured academy environment, then have the chance to:
This pathway supports both cricketing development and personal growth — independence, responsibility, and teamwork in new environments.
Growing Women & Girls’ Cricket Together
Our aim is simple: to help more girls play more cricket, for longer.
By combining:
we are helping to build a stronger foundation for Women & Girls’ cricket locally and across Europe.
We continue to work with clubs, academies and federations who share this development-first philosophy, ensuring that opportunities in girls’ cricket are expanding — not narrowing — for the next generation.
