The Week Ahead at Twenty20 Community Cricket
We kick of the week with a committee meeting for the England Cricket Association for the Deaf in London. Much has happened with Deaf Cricket over the last year and this summer will see Deaf and Hearing Impaired players taking part in the ECB Disability County Championship for the first time which is exciting to see.
On Tuesday we are running the year 9 & 10 Kingston Borough Lord's Taverners Boys Indoor Cricket tournament, with 7 Kingston School taking part, including Chessington School where we are running a cricket Academy for year 7-9 students. We only have up to year 8 in the Academy so far so a few of the boys are going to need to play "up" this week. It will be great experience for them.
Tuesday evening sees us back at RGS Guildford delivering the MCC Foundation Hub with 47 state school cricketers. Last week we had indoor competition week which saw three close games.
On Sunday we have our fifth Junior Deaf Academy coaching session on the winter. The sessions have been going really well and our young Deaf players continue to develop well. We know there must be a lot more young Deaf cricketers out there. Do you have any youngsters at your club with a Cochlear implant or hearing aids? Let us know!
