The Week Ahead

The first MCC Foundation Waverley Hub session starts tomorrow night at RGS Guildford School following last week's trials.

Nearly 80 players were trialed last week and whittled down to 47 attendees over three 1 hour sessions.

It's refreshing to see how much state school talent there is out there but frustrating to see that their own school provision is generally below average. Secondary state school cricket is still a long way behind where it could be. We hope to work with more schools in the same way as we do at Ernest Bevin College and Chessington School to improve the cricket provision.

Later this week we are in Northampton meeting the cricket board there to discuss Deaf and other Disability Cricket plus meeting the guys at Audacious who provide an excellent service to make mobile phone calls clearer.

On Sunday we round off the week with our first Junior Deaf Cricket Academy training session of the year at Staines Prep School.
