Twenty20 Cricket Academy to tour Bristol
Twenty20 Cricket Surrey Performance Academy are coming to Bristol and Somerset!!
In August, the Academy will be making the trip to the West Country to play some of the best teams in Bristol and Somerset. They will be playing five 30 over games in five days.
They will be starting the tour by making the trip over the suspension bridge to play West of England Premier League side, Bristol CC who bring a number of youth players through the Gloucestershire Youth system and into the clubs' first team.
On the Tuesday, they will be making their way to Westbury, which is just around the corner from the home of Gloucestershire Cricket Club, the Brightside Ground. Like Bristol CC, they boast a number of county age group players and are one of the best youth sides in Bristol. It will be a great game testing all the skills learnt by the boys over the winter.
Wednesday sees the boys playing against the oldest club in Bristol, Frenchay Cricket Club who boast one of the most junior members in the south west and once again will be a good game for the boys.
On the Thursday we will be making the trip into Somerset and playing against England legend Marcus Trescothick's former club Keynsham Cricket Club which has a picturesque ground and will be a great venue for the academy’s fourth game.
The boys finish the tour against West of England Premier League club and the home of cricket legend W.G Grace and previous players include former Australia test captain Allan Border. This will be a great way to finish the tour against a tough side and on a beautiful small ground in the middle of Downend.
All the boys are looking forward to the tour which will be a great experience for them cricketing wise and bonding as a side.
The squad is: Tiam Afshar, George Coomes, Freddie Ferro, Harry Holly, Nathan Jones, Ishaan Mohan, Maneesh Patel, Ben Storey, Malin Wade, Cam Wakefield, Rafe Worsford and Alex Yates.
