Wandsworth Borough Primary State School Cricket Academy
The Twenty20 Community Cricket Wandsworth Borough State School Academy squad continue to work hard at their weekly coaching sessions on a Saturday morning at Ernest Bevin College.
The ten players in this fledgling squad will be joining with Sutton to play in the summer Twenty20 Borough State School Academy league.
They will be playing against the four other borough teams, Kingston-upon-Thames, Mole Valley, Richmond and Elmbridge in the summer with matches at Ewell Cricket Club.
The teams have been sponsored by the Denis Jacobs Youth Cricket Trust (DJYCT) which was set up in the memory of Denis Jacobs whose leadership and industry in establishing Surrey's age group coaching scheme, set the stage for a generation of exciting young players such as Graham Thorpe and the Bicknell brothers to emerge.
The Trust aims to: -
Improve youth cricket, supporting talented amateur young cricketers to reach their potential within Surrey and the surrounding areas.
Be inclusive of all young cricketers regardless of gender, race, religion or background.
