Missed out on Surrey Performance trials? We're here for you

Over the past few months a number of talented young cricketers will have missed out on progressing through the Surrey County Performance trials.

Some players aren't ready for the next level. Some players aren't quite good enough yet, and some players are simply missed as so many players are assessed over such a short period of time.

Mistakes happen.

Missing out can be demoralising for many young cricketers.

Our new Twenty20 Surrey County Cricket Academy squads are here for all such players.

We have squads at under 13 and under 11 for the 2017 season and their matches will include our annual game against the Switzerland national junior teams.

Matches typically take place on Sunday afternoons so as not to interfere with club matches.

We also have an Academy coaching week in the summer holidays where 44 top players outside of the Performance system will play daily Twenty20 matches against each other aided by our experienced team of coaches who will take a team each throughout the week as their mentor.

In 2018 we will also have an additional summer holiday week for our older players - an Academy "International" week - which will see a 2-day, 2 innings Test match, 2 x 50 over Internationals and 2 x T20 Internationals over the course of the week. A great opportunity for these players to prove their are worthy of the next step up and to pit themselves against their peers.

We will also launch an under 15 squad in 2018 with the aim of under 17 and under 19 squads to follow so the Performance pathway doesn't have to stop at under 14 for many.

We are already running trials following which you will be invited to join our Sunday afternoon North Surrey Local Twenty20 Cricket Academy training sessions.
