Surrey Slam Schools Round 1 Review

Sunday sees the second round of matches in this year's Surrey Slam Schools competition sponsored by the Denis Jacobs Youth Cricket Trust.

Last week was rained off just over halfway through the first set of matches so all teams received 1 point each.

Woking Warriors posted 99-6 off their 20 overs against Elmbridge Moles who were 16-0 in the 3rd over of the chase before the heavens opened. Both teams look to be strong and contenders to win their group. Group winners go through to the final on 14th July.

Also in the West Division of 5 teams, Surrey Heath Stags posted a big total 138-2 against a young Runnymede Swans team who were 5-1 in the first over when rain prevented any further play. Jacob Porter retired on 25 as did Charlie Turner for Surrey Heath.

The East Division matches were completely rained off.

This week's fixtures: -

West - Elmbridge Moles v Surrey Heath Stags

West - Runnymede Swans v Spelthorne Wizards

East - Kingston Kings v Merton Aces & Wandsworth

East - Epsom & Ewell v Mole Valley
