Runnymede Swans start recruitment for their 2019-20 squad

Trials for the Runnymede Swans Cricket squad start this week.

Players eligible to take part will be in school years 4 & 5 at a state school and ideally already playing at a cricket club.

The Surrey Slam Schools programme aims to provide state educated youngsters with more opportunities to play cricket and help them close the gap between them and their privately educated peers.

The Runnmyede squad is likely to be made up from players at Chertsey, Egham, Englefield Green and Ottershaw Cricket Clubs.

Training takes place on Fridays 4-5pm at St Anne's School in Chertsey with 6 weeks in the autumn term and 6 weeks in the spring term. There will also be a 7 hour coaching day at Weybridge Cricket Club in the Easter or May half-term holidays.

Trialists can sign up online.
