Cricket Academy to launch at Ernest Bevin College
Twenty20 Cricket Company are pleased to announce that from September 2016 they will be running a Cricket Academy at Ernest Bevin College for students studying in its Sixth Form.
The new Academy follow a similar model that has been running at the college for a number of years in that it allows young sportsmen to combine training with their academic studies.
Boys in Years 7-11 at the College already benefit from an excellent cricket programme which includes indoor nets during the winter months and a full programme of both indoor and outdoor cricket fixtures. Their teams have already been highly successful this year with the Year 10 team becoming Surrey Indoor Cricket champions after beating Tiffin School from Kingston in the final. They also came runners up in the 6th International Cricket tournament organised by the Hellenic Cricket Federation in Corfu, Greece.
From September 2016, keen cricketers at Ernest Bevin College who wish to study Post 16 courses at A-level or BTEC National can combine both study and cricket at this new Cricket Academy.
Training will take place throughout the Year with indoor cricket opportunities in the winter and a full Academy fixture list in the Summer playing on Wednesdays.
The Academy will only be available to students on the College roll, and will be organised in partnership with the Twenty20 Cricket Company who will provide fully qualified and experienced coaches and offer pathways to Community Clubs and links to Surrey CCC.
The Academy team will also represent the College at the International Schools Tournament in Corfu each year.
As places in the Academy will be limited, for further information please contact Mr D Smith Director of Sport at the College - contact details here.
