State School cricket programme for 9-12 year olds starts this September

The Surrey Slam Schools programme re-starts for its 4th year next month. It's aimed at providing state school students with additional cricket to help them close the gap between them and their independently educated peers who, we estimate, receive as much as 100 hours additional cricket each year. Training takes place over the winter months in 11 borough venues across Surrey and South West London. Players must be at state school to be eligible and going into any of years 4-8. They should ideally also be playing for a cricket club outside school There are over 35 hours coaching across the year rounded off by hard ball matches next summer at times to allow them to still play for their cricket

Twenty20 Community Cricket adopts CricHeroes for digital scoring and player analysis

In early 2020 we came across CricHeroes through the work we are doing consulting on High Performance for the Sierra Leone Cricket Association. What we found was that we had the ability to monitor individual player performance in matches in Sierra Leone from the comfort of our office in Surrey providing us with sufficient data to recommend individual training areas and aiding team selection. Since then we have adopted CricHeroes for our own Twenty20 Cricket Academy players. The data it provides through the Insights functionality is exceptional. Below you can see an example of the data we can collect for batsmen: - Scoring is done in app and is incredibly simple. The other huge added benefit i

Another last over loss for the Twenty20 Cricket Academy "A"s

A great game for the neutrals at Graburn Way yesterday as East Molesey snatched victory from the jaws of defeat with a 1 wicket win with just 3 balls remaining. Twenty20 Cricket Academy won the toss and chose to bat. Joe Barker was beaten for pace by former Academy member Josh Huxtable in the 3rd over and the Academy struggled to get away some accurate bowling. Sam Partridge departed for a scratchy 8 off 23 balls, to another former Academy player left arm spinner Chand Dodhia and at 29-2 off 10 overs it was looking like a low score was in the offing. Bhuv Chopra briefly upped the run rate before needlessly holing out on the mid wicket boundary before Alex Yates uncharacteristically played a

Esher in narrow rained affected win over Twenty20 Academy "A"

The Twenty20 Cricket Academy "A" team, fresh from their 2-day win last week, travelled to Old Paulines CC to play a strong Esher under 15s side. Winning the toss, the Academy elected to bat but lost wickets steadily after a 28 run opening partnership to find themselves struggling at 42-4. However, Nathan Jones joined captain Rafe Worsfold at the crease to add 86 valuable runs with Jones making yet another half-century ending on 53 off 38 balls. The 40 over match was reduced to 32 overs by rain mid-innings which, with Duckworth-Lewis-Stern not enforced, meant that the Academy innings probably ended 20 runs short of what they would have expected. Esher lost to early wickets in reply but looked
