Twenty20 Cricket Academy start the season with a close win

Easter Sunday and the sun shining over the Castle Ground in Farnham where the annual game between Twenty20 Academy and Farnham Cricket Club took place. Farnham were looking to make it three wins in a row after beating us twice in 2018, but with the hard work put in by all the players over the winter months the Academy boys were ready for the game. Farnham won the toss and decided to bat first in the heat. Opportunity for keen year 4 & 5 Surrey State School cricketers

May is Talent ID month for the Surrey Slam Schools. We have 260 places available across 13 Surrey & London Boroughs for year 4 & 5 state school pupils to take part in a year of training followed by hard ball Twenty20 matches next summer, 2020. If you have boys or girls in year 4 or 5 at a state school and playing cricket for a club, we want to hear from you. Email us as soon as possible to secure your place in the programme.

The Twenty20 Community Cricket/Surrey Slam Schools Talent ID team are out and about this summer looking for new and exciting talent. State school pupils in years 3, 4 & 5 are being scouted for the Surrey Slam Schools programme. We're also looking for players in years 6-9 for the Twenty20 Cricket Academy. Runnymede Swans start recruitment for their 2019-20 squad

Trials for the Runnymede Swans Cricket squad start this week. Players eligible to take part will be in school years 4 & 5 at a state school and ideally already playing at a cricket club. The Surrey Slam Schools programme aims to provide state educated youngsters with more opportunities to play cricket and help them close the gap between them and their privately educated peers. The Runnmyede squad is likely to be made up from players at Chertsey, Egham, Englefield Green and Ottershaw Cricket Clubs. Training takes place on Fridays 4-5pm at St Anne's School in Chertsey with 6 weeks in the autumn term and 6 weeks in the spring term. There will also be a 7 hour coaching day at Weybridge Cricket C

Elmbridge Moles Surrey Slam Schools trials start this week

Trials for the 2019-20 Elmbridge Moles Surrey Slam Schools squad start this week. This will be third year for the Elmbridge squad who narrowly failed to win in an exciting finale last summer. Trials are open to boys & girls in years 4 & 5 at state schools. Elmbridge is one of the richest boroughs in terms of cricket clubs boasting Cobham Avorians, East Molesey, Esher, Thames Ditton, Walton-on-Thames, West End Esher, Weybridge, Weybridge Vandals and Whiteley Village cricket clubs. The hope is for the squad of 20 players to contain players from each club. Trials can be signed up for online.

Surrey Slam Schools 2019-20 Trials Open

13 Boroughs will be taking part in the 2019-20 Surrey Slam Schools competition. The programme is for state educated children in years 4 & 5 this year to help them close the gap between them and privately educated cricketers who, we estimate, receive around 100 hours per year more cricket. We are looking for all current cricket club members in those age groups to trial for one of the 20 places in each squad. Keen non-club members are also welcome. Boroughs involved for 2019-20 are Elmbridge, Epsom & Ewell, Guildford, Kingston-upon-Thames, Merton, Mole Valley, Richmond, Runnmyede, Spelthorne, Surrey Heath, Wandsworth, new venue Waverley and Woking.
