Continue your cricket this winter with Twenty20 Community Cricket

The end of the cricket season does not necessarily mean the end of cricket until next year. Certainly not with Twenty20 Community Cricket. We have several ways in which young cricketers can keep involved and active with cricket during the close season. Primary School Academies (PSA) and Schools Club Is your child’s school part of our Primary School Academies programme or does it have a school cricket club running with us? It may be the start of the academic year and autumn term, however Twenty20 Community Cricket will be in many schools in the coming weeks and months – is your school one of them? Our Primary School Academies are whole year programmes open to pupils in year Key Stage 2 and ar

Back to school for Twenty20 Community Cricket

The start of the 2016/17 academic year and the return to the classroom for children from their summer break is probably a welcome relief to many parents. It also provides the signal for Twenty20 Community Cricket to head back through the school gates this autumn to begin their Primary School Academies for the coming school year. Once again we will be in a host of schools across Surrey and Middlesex in the coming school year, including during this autumn term. A look back at a Twenty20 Community Cricket of Summer!

The arrival of September inevitably means the last knockings of the 2016 cricket season in the coming weeks. And for us here at Twenty20 Community Cricket, it provides us with the ideal opportunity to reflect on what has been another busy and successful summer. Summer Camps over - who were the stars?

Over 500 young cricketers attended the Twenty20 Summer Smash this year and the brilliant weather led to five great weeks of cricket and Twenty20 matches. Tiam Afshar was once again our star batsman at the camps with 236 runs at an average of over 78 and a camps record top score of 95 not out. Alex Minhinnick just pipped club mate James McNamara in the bowling with 8 wickets at an average of just under 10. The most valuable player, as calculated by CricHQ, was Jamie Birtwell-Jones. Tiam was in second place. Mention must go to Torben Pruefer who came over from Hamburg for a month to join our camps - he came in 3rd in the MVP table!
