The European Women's Development course is a weekend long indoor course aimed at helping to develop women cricketers in Europe.
From the training, a squad of 7 will be selected to represent the Twenty20 International European Women's team in the Vienna Wintercup in Austria in February 2016.
The aim is for this to be the start of 2-3 training session per year and potentially leading up to an outdoor tour in 2016 and beyond.
It is open to any women's cricketer in continental Europe but we would anticipate that you are already part of your national team.
The training will be run by Darren Talbot & Robin Maslin from Twenty20 International who have been coaching the Belgian Women's team and who sponsored the 2014 tournament in Berlin.
On Saturday there will be mostly indoor specific skills training sessions and on Sunday we will split the group into teams and play some indoor matches to see how players perform in a match situation to help us select the squad for Vienna.
These indoor specific skills are also very transferrable outdoors, e.g. better running between the wickets, reactions in the field, looking for gaps, bowling control.
Our local contacts are working on a list of accommodation options to suit all budgets which will appear here.
